Restart your Surface

Check your keyboard and Surface connectors
There are a few things you can try:
- Give the connectors of your keyboard and your Surface a few wipes to clean them.
- Check to see if there are bumps on the connectors. If there are, try pressing them gently to fix them.
Force a shutdown and restart your Surface
To do so:
Step 1: Hold down the power button of your Surface for 10 seconds, and release it. Then turn on your Surface again to see if this works for you. If not, then:
Step 2: Hold down the power button for around 30 seconds and then release it.
Step 3: Hold down the power button and the volume-up (+) button for about 15 seconds and then release them.
Step 4: Turn on your Surface and test your keyboard issue.
